Iran Security Forces Kill One, Arrest Six in Saravan Operation; Weapons and Explosives SeizedSaravan, Sistan and Baluchestan — August 28, 2026

Iranian security forces have reported killing one alleged member of the Jaish al-Adl militant group and arresting six others during an armed operation in Saravan, in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province.

According to a statement attributed to an Iranian police spokesperson, the operation was carried out with cooperation from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and intelligence personnel.

Large Cache of Weapons Seized

Authorities said the operation resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and other equipment. The reported items included dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, hand grenades, RPG-7 launchers, approximately 20 kilograms of C4 explosives, around 150 rounds of ammunition and several Starlink satellite communication devices.

Suspects Linked to Previous Attacks

Iranian authorities further claimed that some of the six arrested individuals were linked to previous attacks on Iranian security personnel in Saravan, including an incident in April and the killing of an IRGC member in the previous month.

The claims have been attributed to Iranian security authorities, and independent verification of the reported casualties, arrests and seized materials was not immediately available.

The operation comes amid continuing security tensions in Iran’s southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province.
